On July 23, an FDA advisory committee voted to recommend that four peptides (BPC-157, KPV, TB-500, and MOTS-c) be added to a list governing which ingredients pharmacies may use when preparing a prescription. Here is what that vote was not: • Not FDA approval. All four remain unapproved. • Not binding. The FDA makes the decision. • Not immediate. Formal rulemaking typically runs 12 to 24 months.
