Cosmetic surgery consultations with Dr. Li are comprehensive. Patients commonly present with one procedure in mind, but it is standard practice for board-certified plastic surgeons to evaluate overall anatomy, proportions, and aesthetic goals in order to provide a complete professional assessment and recommendations. Discussing additional or alternative procedures is not “upselling”; it is part of providing an informed surgical consultation and ensuring patients understand all available options. Recommendations are intended to be informational, and patients are free to pursue only the procedures they are interested in. Additionally, providing multiple pricing options is intended to help patients compare possibilities and make informed decisions — not to pressure anyone into additional surgery. Many patients appreciate seeing different approaches discussed during consultation. Regarding communication from our office, follow-up after consultations is a routine part of patient coordination in elective aesthetics, particularly when patients request quotes or indicate ongoing interest. That said, if any communication felt excessive, we certainly respect a patient’s decision not to proceed.
